Why should I buy an air purifier :
Allergy is a hypersensitivity of the organism to substances, generally harmless and present in the environment. These substances, called allergens, can be found in the air and are called aero-allergens or air allergens. They are found in animal hair, mites, pollens, molds, but also in chemicals from paints, lacquers, glues, perfumes….
Less known but just as harmful to the body, there are allergenic particles in the cooking steam, and in some volatile foods due to their weight (flour, for example). All these fine particles can be filtered and captured by HEPA filters and activated carbon filter of which we have equipped our air purifiers.
Our pets, so close to us, secrete many allergens that can be highly volatile. Purifying the air and your environment of these particles is therefore important. They nestle at the base of their hairs, in their saliva and urine and, once deposited, they remain active for several months.
Are you expecting a child? Do you have or receive young children? One of your loved ones has a allergic condition (asthma, hay fever, other allergic rhinitis, eczema)? Air purification with devices fitted with HEPA filters (High Efficiency Particulate Air) is then recommended. (According to pediatrician-online)
The air purifier is a device that filters your indoor air and thanks to its many filters, HEPA, activated carbon filters will capture fine particles, odors and bacteria.
Did you know that young children breathe twice as fast as an adult, so they absorb twice as many pollutants? Their airways are more permeable and smaller, their immune system and their brain still in full development. We must therefore avoid that their organism saturates and progresses to allergies or asthma.
According to Anthony Lake, Managing Director of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF): "The pollutants damage children's lungs, but can also break brain protective barriers and irreparably damage their brain development, compromising their future ” Indoor air quality is the leading cause of pollution-related deaths among children under the age of 5 years in Europe, out of the 4,000 deaths recorded, 3,000 are linked to indoor pollution. If on top, the child has a sensitivity, purifying the indoor air will allow his body to rest from daily aggressions.
To purify the indoor air, an air purifier, equipped with HEPA filters, carbon filter, is effective on fine particles, volatile organic compounds and even odors.
According to the latest Public Health France (SPF) study, 48,000 deaths a year are linked to pollution by PM2.5 fine particles. It is the third leading cause of death in France, and it is almost impossible to escape this pollution. Urban areas shows the weakest levels of air quality in agglomerations of more than 100,000 inhabitants, the SPF study shows an average loss of fifteen months of life expectancy for a 30 year old individual due to fine particles.
WHO is alarmed and gathering information on pollution in big cities. " Fine particles ozone, Volatile organic compounds ... In ten European cities, living close to road traffic may be responsible for approximately 15 % to 30 % of new childhood asthma cases " detailed the 2014 assessment of air quality in France, carried out by the Ministry of the Environment.
The Public Health France study notes that air quality is not ideal elsewhere: "In areas between 2,000 and 100,000 inhabitants, the loss of life expectancy is 10 months on average and in rural areas, an average of 9 months of life expectancy is estimated to be lost. " The reasons ? If traffic-related pollution is lower, there may be emissions of particulate matter related to agriculture, for example.
