Meeting rooms

The meeting room is a place for collaboration and sharing. Since the last pandemics, its importance has paradoxically increased and its number has greatly increased.
The confinement and the implementation of telecommuting have been the driving force behind the development of the meeting room. In parallel to the development of shared spaces, such as open-space, it has also been necessary to create many small meeting rooms in order to continue collaborative work, without disturbing the majority of people.
1) The meeting room
The meeting room is a key place for the company, and its objective is to allow work on collaborative projects. To be efficient, it must optimize the working conditions of the people gathered, while isolating them from the rest of the company.
It is therefore necessary to feel good, in a healthy air, without odors and not to fear the proximity of the others.
The development of open-spaces and coworking spaces has led to the creation of meeting rooms. All the partners of a company: the management, the Social and Economic Committees (CSE) formerly CHSCT and CE, and employees are attentive to the quality of life at work (QWL).
Standards apply to work spaces, according to the labor code and the NF X35-102 standard: a minimum of 3 m² per person is allowed for a meeting room (Source: Infos droits).
2) The defects and risks of working in a meeting room
A meeting room must be soundproofed so that the participants do not disturb the other attendees. These working conditions must be optimal in order to maintain the ability to concentrate, to avoid a drop in energy levels and not to generate fears about possible cross-contamination.
Beyond a temperate temperature which is regulated by heating and air conditioning, good air quality has now become very important for all concerned: company managers, employees and social partners.
The fear of possible microbial transmissions between participants has increased as well as the awareness of the impacts of confined spaces on health with as first consequences the necessity, either to have a lot of space between the participants and a frequent ventilation (15 minutes every 2 hours), or to have a replaced or purified air continuously.
3) The findings
We all spend 80% of our time indoors, at the office, in our homes, at school, etc. (Source: Ecologie Gouv).
The indoor air quality is inferior compared to the outdoor air. Indeed, the external pollution penetrates in the buildings, concentrates and we add our own production of pollutants to it.
The pollutants present are of several types:
- Chemical pollutants produced by furniture, glues, varnishes, floor and wall coverings, they are called volatile organic compounds or VOC,
- Biological pollutants such as bacteria, viruses, fungi and molds.
For several years, we have experienced a succession of pandemics: the SARS Cov2 epidemic, the H1N1 flu, and then the Covid-19 pandemic.
We now know that these pandemics exist, are multiplying and that the risk of having to live with new communicable diseases in the future is significant.

In a meeting room, where people are in close contact, it is crucial to reassure participants about the risks of viral transmission.
Our air purifiers filter the ambient air, eliminate PM 2.5 as well as Volatile Organic Compounds, thus cleaning the air of biological and chemical pollutants.
Within the AIR ET SANTÉ range, to guarantee the efficiency of our devices, all our air purifiers are designed with successive levels of filtration. Pre-filters, class 13 or 14 HEPA filters, activated carbon filters to eliminate ultra-fine PM 2.5 particles and volatile organic compounds (VOC). Then we added complementary devices, ionization, photocatalysis with UV lamp.
They are effective for a 500 m² catering room or an individual office of 10 m². For these spaces, we have the appropriate indoor air purifiers.
The air purifier helps cleaning and purifying the air of meeting rooms. It reassures participants about the risks of bacterial and viral transmission, eliminates ultrafine particles and volatile organic compounds.
In doing so, it helps maintain concentration and productivity, and helps avoid possible relational tensions and increased absenteeism that can occur in a confined and poorly ventilated environment.
On the other hand, by purifying the air and eliminating allergens and VOCs, the air purifier avoids the possible aggravation of already existing pathologies like asthma and airborne allergies.
As such, air quality has become key to avoid cross-transmissions, eliminate allergens and pollutants that can affect employees. Good air quality facilitates the return to the office, productivity while allowing the company to continue to reorganize to reduce its fixed costs.
